This yarn is very soft, great for items next to the skin such as a scarf. I love the color range, it is so much better than the basic colors.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Grande 100% Baby Alpaca Yarn - Celery #799:

I bought this yarn to make a small baby blanket. The texture is so nice and soft, I am really loving the finished product. The color is also great, it has enough variation to be interesting for a full piece. The only problem I am having is with pulls now and then and getting the tension exactly right when switching stiches...although the tension may be more my fault than the yarn...Either way, I am overall very happy with this purchase and would absolutely use this yarn again on something else. Also, it was a dollar to a few dollars cheaper per skein on this website than elsewhere.

Comments about Plymouth Yarn Grande 100% Baby Alpaca Yarn - Celery #799:

This yarn is wonderfully soft, and very pleasant to work with. It pills a little, and fluffs up quite a bit, but it's definitely worth it. I made a hat on size 9s, and the fabric is dense and warm but has a wonderful drape, and it doesn't irritate the sensitive skin of my forehead at all. It would make a beautiful and warm sweater, or lovely gloves with a somewhat tighter gauge; anything suitable for a soft, airy, bulky yarn would be improved by baby alpaca. I love it.

The color is not quote true on my monitor -- it's a light green, halfway between celery and sage. It's a lovely color, but not quite as granny-smith-apple as the color I see in the picture above.
