Heritage is a workhorse sock yarn in the same way that Cascade 220 is a workhorse worsted weight. It is very soft--almost cottony, but not uncomfortable to knit the way cotton can be. The nylon content makes me confident that my socks will wear well, but the yarn doesn't feel like nylon at all. I think it would make a beautiful fine-gauge sweater.
