A friend asked me to knit a circular scarf for her. I wanted a quick and easy yarn to carry along while traveling. The yarn is deliciously soft and easy to work with on Addi turbos. HOWEVER, it sheds profusely, and made knitting on the road impossible- bits of fiber everywhere. I've just finished knitting it, and it looks and feels terrific, but I will know more when I've washed it if it will behave, or continue to leave huge bits of itself everywhere. If it doesn't, it will be a difficult scarf to wear with anything other than a coat of the same color!

This is a great soft, buttery, may never want to knit with another yarn again, yarn!! Could unravel easily if you do not knit with the grain, which I found you must wind into a ball then wind into another ball to get a center pull with the grain ball. Knits fast, wonderful to the touch, the only down side is you may never want to knit with anything else again!!!--which I don't really see as a downside--except for the cost:) I have only started on the afghan but so far it shows off the pattern well and knits wonderfully even and fast.

I am knitting a rather large (5.5 ft x 7.5 ft) basketweave stitch afghan. This alpaca is just wonderful to work with. Although it would unravel easy, simply assuring you are working "with the grain;" which I found you have to wind the hank into a ball then wind again into another ball in order to achieve a with the grain center pull; and I've encountered no problems with unraveling. Easy to work with, wonderful feel and nap. Beautiful colors, not simply one tone but a beautiful blend of soft grays. This is a wonderful yarn for the project I'm working on, I can't wait to use it and see if it is warm enough. If not, I'll simply knit another with doubling yarn as I can't imagine using anything else. WARNING: you may never want to knit with anything else again once you work with Alpaca!
