I have only used this yarn for felting. I have felted three hats and two pair of mittens and was very pleased with the results.

Lovely color and texture but needs a lot of coaxing to felt with other fibers. Safest to tack it down with roving.

Comments about Cascade Yarn Cascade Pastaza Yarn #008 Black:

This is one of the most beautiful yarns I have ever used to knit for felted purses, and I've made many. Using a double strand makes the purse very strong, so strong that after felting, you can actually just punch a hole with scissors to pull thru the purse handle and knot. But the real surprise is the beautiful, hairy, soft texture that is created in the felting process.

I use the Cascade Pastaza yarn in my felted purses. It is wonderful to work with...very soft and knits up quickly. It felts to a very dense fabric. The color was so rich it was the deepest black I have ever used. I would use it for sweaters, too as it is so, so soft!

Made felted hats for Christmas gifts. They worked up in a night. I gave them slightly damp to several so they could shape them as they liked. They were quite a hit with the recipient's and I was able to give lovely gifts within my budget of time and money!
