I wore these on a 14er trip that never got above freezing...it wasn't super cold, but these plus my Vasque Radiators kept my feet never feeling a bit of cold. They were a little on the bigger size for my women's size 8 feet, but still fit - working especially well in boots I had bought with a little extra space (for warmth).

I purchased SmartWool ski socks to wear horseback riding this winter and my feet were still very cold. A friend recommended these and the first day I wore them outside for 3 hours in 15 degree weather, my feet were warm! I even used without insulated boots. Great buy!!! I'm a size 6 1/2 and the Medium is a little big.

I hated to give this a 4*, but in order to be a 5* they had to be PERFECT. The 11 in. crew length is probably perfect for most. I have a thicker calf muscle and I find that I lose perhaps an inch in length in order to go over my calf. In an ideal world, they would make these with a 12 crew length. This is the only reason why they are not 5*
I loaned these socks out to a friend for a cold winter day. They had a hard time returning them to me, so I'll know what to get them for a gift!
Once they get them in stock, they turn them around right away. Fast, prompt and ALWAYS helpful customer service!

I live in the mountains where the temperature can get pretty cold. In fact right now its minus -24 degree's outside. My feet always are cold no matter what kind of heavy socks I put on. But ever since I discovered the magic of Alpaca...my feet are always toasty warm. I bought 2 pair as I wear them ever day whether I am inside or out.Work, around the house or taking my dog for a walk. And yes.........I do go out for a walk even though it gets this cold.
