I spun this top into singles to ply with other singles from other fibers. It is very nice and soft and spun easily. It can be spun very fine. I did find that I had to predraft it in order to do a more even job. It should be remembered that merino doesn't have a lot of body, so I wouldn't recommend it for sweaters if used alone without a fiber with more body.

I bought this yarn for making felted soap as it was indicated that it has great felting qualities. It is incredibly soft and supple in comparison to the Clover brand wool roving. It's soft texture doesn't allow it to "knit" together as easily when felting it over a bar of soap, but the colors are incredibly beautiful. I would certainly use this again. In addition, the 4oz package is generous in comparison to what you get in one of the Clover packages. Highly recommend this product!
