I wanted to learn to spin, so I purchased a book about high whorl spindling. After looking at a lot of options, I decided to get this spindle as my "first", and I am very pleased that I did. It is working very well -- good balance, and very forgiving of Newbie drops!

As I'm a novice spinner, I wanted an inexpensive spindle but one that reflected the appreciation I have for tools which I will use over and over again. The top whirl drop spindle is easy to use and it won't be long before I feel comfortable spinning in public and knitting with yarn that I have hand spun.

I am trying to learn to hand spin with a drop spindle and didn't do enough research before I purchased this one. It is a little too heavy and should have paid more for a more finished one. I am glad I didn't pay more for this one.
